We like Nick Rosen’s idea of replacing “green” with the word “brown.” He believes the word green has been hijacked by manufacturers and diverts consumers from the fact that 98% of all waste is generated outside the home through manufacturing, transportation and distribution. He cites as examples the “green” Barbie doll.

  1. I work for an architect, Ken Gaylord, who is designing zero energy buildings. We have been really walking the walk here and I appreciated Nick’s article about a more meaningful, dimensional reference to the word “green”. I am going brown.
    I have quoted him.
    Thanks.
